How I choose what I recommend
Last updated: 8 November 2026
Every page on bloom93 follows the same rules, so you can trust what you read and check it.
1. I rank by impact on the cup
Fresh coffee, a grinder and a scale change the result more than an expensive coffee maker. That’s why the where-to-start guide goes in that order.
2. Manufacturers’ recipes
Each starting recipe comes from the website of whoever makes the brewer (Hario, AeroPress, Chemex, Bodum, Bialetti, Sage) and I link it at the bottom of the page. When I add something of my own, I say so.
3. Data with a source
Specifications come from the manufacturer’s website or, when I don’t cite one, from the product’s listing on amazon.co.uk. Each page says where every figure comes from.
4. No made-up tests
I don’t publish measurements, tastings or lab comparisons I haven’t done. If I haven’t tried a product, I say so.
5. I write with the help of AI and check it
I use artificial intelligence to draft text and to generate the images, which are illustrative. I check every figure against its source before publishing.
6. Commissions don’t decide
I earn a commission when you buy on Amazon from a link on this website, at the same price for you. It doesn’t change what I recommend: I explain it in the affiliate disclosure.
7. Visible dates
Every page says when I last reviewed it. Models change; if a figure goes out of date, I update it.
